I started my first IT career on 2006 at Alcatel-Lucent as a System and Network technician, I used to provide IT support for end users and check health of Telecom servers based on HP-UX, Sun Solaris and IBM AIX, then I moved to Telindus and worked as an IT support engineer, I had to work for two big customers: one for WAN networks (monitoring and troubleshooting WAN issues) and other one for windows servers (fileservers, exchange server, Active Directory..), after that, I got a job at Kitea as a senior network and system administrator, I was responsible for renewing all servers, designing and setting up domain controllers, messaging server based on MS Exchange, antivirus server… then I joined RATPDEV Casablanca as an IT manager, we designed and setup the whole IT infrastructure (many ESXi hosts, many windows servers and app servers..), recruit IT team, wrote processes based on IT best practices and I was proud to lead IT department and worked hard to get ISO 9001 v2015 for our organization.
All equipements and servers were installed on-premise, I started setting up ISMS (Information Security Management System) and building solid security processes based on ISO 27001 requirements, at that time, the top management had other priorities, that’s why we have suspended this great project, but best practices were adopted…
I looked for new challenges, new environnement where I can apply my IT & management skills and learn new things, that’s why I joined a company specialized in IT Solutions for Healthcare, my first project was to setup and secure a new IT infranstructure completely, but this time the whole IT infrastructure should be on a private cloud, then we got an opportunity to provide our country with a covid19 vaccination solution that can be used by all vaccinated people and healthcare professionals, we had to provision as fast as possible a scalable and secure IT infrastructure, redesign the solution in order to satisfy current and future needs… thus we used AWS cloud, but due to compliance, we have migrated all the workload to a private cloud hosted in a datacenter in Rabat and we kept AWS cloud only for POCs.
When I first use AWS cloud services, I was excited by all its simplicity, features, scalability and ability to satisfy any types of needs, that’s why I started my journey to learn AWS services with a particular focus on AWS solutions architect and start sharing my notes, labs…
